The picture of the monofilament shows a piece of stocking or tights wrapped around the spool. Cut a piece, say about one inch by two inches, fold it in half, and sew it up one side. Then slip it over the spool of monofilament. It helps to keep it from sliding all over the place as it seems to do! It works great for me when sewing but if it didn't work for someone, then it's still great for storing the darn stuff!! Joanna in UT
