As far as I'm concerned, the only good pin cushion is a Magnetic Pin Caddy! These are terrific, plain and simple.

First of all, they hold a bunch of pins. Fling a pile of pins at it and THWACK! They stick. Slick as a whistle.

The pins grab hold and orient themselves all in a nice little line over the big groove in the center of the caddy. The grove lets you scoop them all right up if you need a bunch, or one at a time.

Best of all it has a LID! Finally, you can stop dusting your pins. (Oh, you haven't started?) The lid keeps them clean when you're not using them. It just snaps in place. It also fits on the underside of the caddy when you are using your pins.

This Magnetic Pin Caddy is the best way ever to bring pins to a workshop. They won't spill out all over your bag, they stay clean, and did I mention that they come in three bright colors?

This is a fantastic tool. One for home, one for class. I'm just saying… you're gonna love it. Works with paperclips too, in case you spend more time at a desk than at your machine.

And, here's a bonus tip: Get an old pair of panty hose. (Go ahead; I'll wait.) Put the lid on the Magnetic Pin Caddy and throw it down one leg. (You don't even have to taket the pins out, because of the lid. Cool.) While holding on to the waistband or the other leg, heave the Magnetic Pin Caddy behind your stove and use it to bring up that metal spatula you dropped back there last time you made pancakes.
